Aleksandra Rogala
Through a Single Line

The work of Aleksandra Rogala is difficult to categorise. The first instinct might be to label her as a young artist with an intellectual disability. Yet that would be far too simplistic: Aleksandra creates her pieces entirely independently of the art world, producing works that resonate with a variety of artistic currents. What other artists develop over years of experience – what they seek, what inspires them – seems to come naturally to Aleksandra. Nothing more, nothing less.

Her drawings are consistently grounded in a distinctive aesthetic she has developed. The trembling line, which so beautifully captures the traits of her subjects, is perhaps Aleksandra’s most characteristic feature. The simplicity of her drawings does not stem from artistic calculation, a cultivated manner, or prevailing trends; it is a direct consequence of Aleksandra’s own nature.

Aleksandra Rogala is a laureate of the British Council and Zachęta competition Europe Beyond Access. She has also received an artistic scholarship from the City of Warsaw.

Aleksandra’s works can also be viewed on her Facebooku and Instagram profiles.

The opening (vernissage) will take place on Friday, 13 October 2023, at 17:00. Aleksandra’s works will be on view in our gallery until the end of October – highly recommended!
