Piotr Bosakiewicz first took up drawing as a child, experimenting with his first artistic works. As he entered adulthood, however, work and family responsibilities gradually drew him away from art. It was only after years of difficult experiences that he returned to drawing, developing his own approach to image-making and embarking once again on an artistic path.

The human figure occupies a particularly important place in his work. Portraits and depictions of the human form recur in a variety of settings, from individual figures to more elaborate scenes. The artist pays particular attention to the face, gesture and detail, using drawing as his primary means of constructing form.

Nature and the surrounding world form another important area of Bosakiewicz’s interests. Animals, landscapes and scenes from everyday life appear as subjects in their own right, alongside depictions of the human figure.

Christian iconography is also strongly present. The artist draws on scenes and figures associated with religious themes, as well as compositions familiar from art history. Recognisable religious motifs are given a personal interpretation in his work.

Another strand of his work draws on popular culture. Recognisable figures and images taken from film, music and other areas of mass culture meet the artist’s distinctive, spontaneous approach to drawing.

Alongside drawing and painting, Bosakiewicz also works in wood. Leather goods also form a significant part of his creative practice.
