Janusz Kirenko
Afterimages
Janusz Kirenko, Professor, is an accomplished scholar and artist, with a long career in research, pedagogy, and the arts. He is the author of numerous monographs, co-authored publications, academic articles, research reports, editorial works, and pedagogical materials. Kirenko is also a painter and poet, writing in the complex haiku form, with several published poetry collections. In 2012, he released his autobiography, Chwila (A Moment).
Regarding the works exhibited at Galeria Art Brut, Kirenko writes: “A world of native landscapes arising alongside the pursuit of emotional traces beyond the horizon of love” – a unique synthesis of painting inspired by the landscapes of Stanisławski, combined with haiku-like poetic reflections on the passing of time.
The exhibition of small-scale oil paintings, Afterimages, opened on 5 December 2023, accompanied by a reading from the artist’s newly published poetry collection, "Tropy" (Traces). Visitors were able to admire 32 miniatures in the spirit of Stanisławski’s landscapes while listening to excerpts from Kirenko’s latest poetry.
