Exhibition Review

The exhibition “Discovery A” by Aleksandra Grajper is an encounter with a young artist whose practice is still taking shape, yet whose artistic personality is already remarkably distinctive. The twenty-one-year-old artist from Hańsk invites the viewer into an intimate, sincere and uncompromisingly truthful world, one in which art is not an addition to life but one of its essential foundations. It is also a world that is courageous and surreal.

The subject matter of her works is diverse. She often depicts fantastical, unreal, invented creatures, reflecting a considerable imaginative capacity. What immediately draws attention is her extraordinary attention to detail, most fully evident in the sculptural forms she creates. There is a remarkable concentration on detail, almost like a microscopic record of a fragment of her inner world: a gesture, an emotion, a memory transformed into a new creation. Despite their small scale, these works are intensely expressive and remarkably rich in detail.
